Compass Terms & Conditions

Last updated: May 2026

These Compass Terms and Conditions (the Compass Terms) govern your purchase and use of the Compass app. Compass is offered through the metis.nz website by Metis Solutions Limited. These Compass Terms must be read in conjunction with the Metis Website General Terms and Conditions (the General Terms). In the event of any inconsistency between these Compass Terms and the General Terms, these Compass Terms will prevail in relation to Compass.

By purchasing or accessing Compass, you confirm that you have read and agree to both these Compass Terms and the General Terms.

Description of Service

Compass is a digital assessment platform designed to provide personalised, evidence-based outcomes for neurodivergent professionals navigating workplace challenges. Using an integrated knowledge base, it delivers evidence-informed, neuro-affirming guidance tailored to your neurotype and workplace context. Access to Compass is provided via the metis.nz website following successful payment.

Compass provides general guidance only. It does not constitute medical, legal, occupational, psychological or any other form of professional advice. You are responsible for exercising independent judgement before acting on any output. For consequential decisions, seek appropriate professional advice.

Medical and Clinical Limitations

Metis builds AI-powered assistive technology designed to reduce the invisible cognitive load of work for neurodivergent professionals. Built on the principle that 'Our story is our own', every Metis app is designed to respect your autonomy: you choose what to share, and you are not required to disclose a diagnosis to access support.

Sharing information about your neurotype is optional, but it may improve the relevance and quality of the outcomes a Metis app provides. When neurotype information is entered, Metis apps use it to personalise results to your cognitive profile, including identifying approaches that are well-suited to how you work and filtering out those that are likely to create additional load rather than reduce it. The choice of what to share remains yours at all times.

Metis apps are not medical or therapeutic services. They do not diagnose health conditions, provide clinical advice or prescribe treatment. While Metis draws on peer-reviewed research, practitioner expertise and lived experience to support neurodivergent professionals in workplace contexts, our apps are not a substitute for qualified healthcare professionals. Decisions relating to diagnosis, treatment, medication or therapeutic support should be made in consultation with appropriately qualified practitioners.

Metis is designed to complement, not replace, professional medical, psychological or therapeutic care.

Payment and Access

Payment is processed securely via Stripe, using accepted credit or debit cards. Prices are shown in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST where applicable. Access to Compass is granted immediately upon successful payment. You are responsible for ensuring your payment information is accurate and authorised. We reserve the right to suspend or revoke access if payment is reversed, disputed or identified as fraudulent.

Refunds and Cancellations

Because access to Compass is granted immediately upon payment, no refunds will be issued once Compass has been accessed, except as required by New Zealand consumer law. Refunds requested prior to first access may be granted at our discretion. Nothing in these Compass Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.

Acceptable Use

Compass is licensed for your personal use only. You must not:

  • Share, transfer or resell your access credentials or your Compass access to any other person
  • Use Compass for any unlawful, misleading or unauthorised purpose
  • Attempt to copy, reverse engineer, decompile or extract any underlying data, algorithms or systems
  • Use Compass to compile, reproduce or publish content or outputs for commercial or third-party use without our prior written permission

We may suspend or terminate your access without notice if we reasonably believe you have breached any of these conditions.

Reasonable Use

Compass is designed for individual users seeking tailored guidance to support neuroinclusive work practices. Examples of reasonable individual use may include conducting searches and accessing outputs as part of normal personal or professional use, such as up to approximately 10 to 20 search queries per week and saving or referencing information for your own use.

Excessive or unreasonable use includes:

  • Automated or scripted querying using bots or scraping tools
  • Repeated, high-volume access substantially exceeding normal individual user patterns (for example, more than 100 queries in a 7-day period)
  • Sharing login details to allow multiple users to access the same account concurrently

If we reasonably believe your use exceeds reasonable limits, we may temporarily suspend or limit your access or request that you modify your usage. Continued excessive use may result in account termination without refund except where required by law.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details. You must promptly notify us at hello@metis.nz if you believe your account has been compromised.

Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in Compass, its design, outputs and underlying systems belong to Metis Solutions Limited or its licensors. Purchasing access to Compass grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for personal use only. It does not grant you ownership or any rights beyond those expressly set out in these Compass Terms. You may not copy, distribute or publish any content or output from Compass without our prior written permission.

Disclaimers

In addition to the disclaimers in the General Terms, the following apply specifically to Compass:

  • Compass outputs are generated by AI systems and are provided for general guidance only. They may not meet your specific needs or expectations in every circumstance
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or currency of any third-party resources or tools surfaced by Compass. You are responsible for verifying their suitability before use
  • Where neurotype information is provided, it is used to personalise outcomes only. This does not constitute a diagnostic assessment and should not be treated as clinical guidance

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to Compass immediately if you breach these Compass Terms or the General Terms. You will not be entitled to a refund in such cases, except as required by applicable consumer law.

Policy Administration and Review

These Compass Terms are maintained by our Content Lead and reviewed at least annually, or upon material changes to the Compass product. For general questions or support, contact us at hello@metis.nz.
