Metis Solutions Limited (we, us or our) owns the metis.nz website. In believing ‘Our Story is Our Own’, we respect your right to privacy and understand that protecting your personal information is important. We also collect personal information from third parties where you have authorised this or the information is publicly available.

The personal information we collect about you includes (but is not limited to):

  • Contact information, including email addresses and phone number.
  • Neurotype, noting this is sensitive personal information (a form of health information) collected explicitly with your consent to provide personalised and relevant AI-powered technology solutions. Neurotype data is stored securely, encrypted, and anonymised where possible to protect user privacy, in compliance with the Privacy Act 2020.
  • Payment information.
  • IP address.
  • Location.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We will use your personal information:

  • To verify your identity.
  • To provide our services and products to you.
  • To market our services and products to you, including contacting you electronically (e.g. by text or email for this purpose).
  • To improve the services and products that we provide to you.
  • To bill you and to collect money that you owe us, including authorising and processing credit card transactions.

  • To conduct research and statistical analysis (on an anonymised basis).

Subject to certain grounds for refusal set out in the Act, you have the right to access your readily retrievable personal information that we hold and to request a correction to your personal information. Before you exercise this right, we will need evidence to confirm that you are the individual to whom the personal information relates.

In respect of a request for correction, if we think the correction is reasonable and we are reasonably able to change the personal information, we will make the correction. If we do not make the correction, we will take reasonable steps to note on the personal information that you requested the correction.

Internet Use

While we take reasonable steps to maintain secure internet connections, if you provide us with personal information over the internet, the provision of that information is at your own risk. If you follow a link on our website to another site, the owner of that site will have its own privacy policy relating to your personal information. We suggest you review that site’s privacy policy before you provide personal information.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use “cookies” and similar tracking technologies to collect information, track your activity on our Website and Products, and hold certain data. Cookies are small data files placed on your device which may include an anonymous unique identifier. We use this data to analyse Website usage, improve your user experience, and remember your preferences. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent, but if you do so, some features of our Website or Products may not function correctly.

How Long We Store Personal Information

User information will be stored until the purpose the information was collected for has been achieved. Personal information, including neurotype, will be retained for as long as you maintain an active account or as needed to fulfil your purchase, after which it will be deleted within 12 months of account inactivity unless required by law.

How to Opt-Out of Data Collection, Use, or Disclosure

You can opt-out of the use of your personal information for marketing emails by clicking “un-subscribe” on the bottom of any marketing email.

Children’s Privacy

Our Website and services are not directed at, or intended for use by, children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and you become aware that your child has provided us with Personal Information without your consent, please contact us immediately at info@metis.nz, and we will take reasonable steps to delete that information from our servers.

GDPR

For users in the European Union, we adhere to the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”). For users in the United Kingdom, we adhere to the GDPR as enshrined in the Data Protection Act 2018. We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer as we do not fall within the categories of controllers and processors required to appoint a Data Protection Officer under Article 37 of the GDPR.
